RSG BioCafe 'Visualize your science!'
- Date:
- 23 Oct 2009
- Time:
- 16:00
- Location:
- Utrecht
The last two years the Regional Student Group has been organizing BioCafe's. These events are a nice opportunity to hear more from other research fields, to improve your "soft skills" like presenting your work, and to get in touch with other PhD students in the Netherlands.
The topic of the next BioCafe is: Visualize your science! For the first time the RSG invited an international speaker: Nils Gehlenborg from the EBI will discuss his work on visualizing large microarray datasets. The second speaker is Michel Westenberg from Eindhoven University of Technology, and will reveal to us the visualization of biological networks.
This Biocafé will be concluded with a visualization Quickfire during which each participant will have the opportunity to show his/her favorite/coolest/best image. You will have 30 seconds to explain why, what and how you made the image.
Registration for this event is required, so please send an e-mail to rsg-netherlands@removethis.iscbsc.org with your name, institute and whether you want come and eat dinner after the BioCafe. If you want to show your work, you can also send in 1 ppt-slide containing the image and your name.
Where: Poort van Kleef, (second floor of Café Carré), Mariaplaats 7, Utrecht
