Presentation: Results BioAssist hackathon
Just before the NBIC Conference, an international group of programmers will work together for two full long days of collaborative computer programming during a hack marathon. For this hackathon a few targets have been defined:
- A “simple” RDF based resolution and Sparql endpoint for the ConceptWiki
- Concept recognition in HTML or plain text from highly ambiguous terms based on context clues
- Recognizing new and existing concept triples “on the fly” while typing in MS Word or Excel.
- Automagically adding annotations to text that is available only as PDF
The results of this hackathon will be presented during this session. We hope that it will be an impressive show of what a focused group of talented hackers can do with a handful of ideas and two days of dedicated time.
