NBIC BioWise boosts Life Science programme

The NBIC BioWise team is happy to introduce her new team member: Patrick Koks. Within the BioWise programme Patrick will coordinate the bioinformatics education for Life Sciences Researchers. He will organise courses and workshops for Life Sciences PhD-students, develop e-learning courses on "bioinformatics for biologists" and contribute to activities to enhance education on bioinformatics in a national and international context.

Patrick holds a M.Sc. in 'Molecular Sciences' (Wageningen University) and has wet-lab experience in general DNA & protein analysis techniques, animal and yeast cell culturing. He worked as a bioinformatician at Wageningen University, the AMC and TNO on micro-array analysis and algorithm development, SNP-array analysis, statistics, genetics and databases. Recently, he started working on the eBiomics e-learning project (WUR), which he will continue to do as member of the BioWise team.
