NBIC partner in Open PHACTS consortium

NBIC has joined the Open PHACTS project as new consortium member.

The Open PHACTS consortium is building a semantic data integration platform for pharmacological data, to give answers needed to identify new drug targets and pharmacological interactions. The Open PHACTS platform will provide a user-friendly tool to answer the critical pharmacology questions defined by nine major pharmaceutical companies.

NBIC will be represented as part of the Open PHACTS consortium at ICBO 2012: 3rd International Conference on Biomedical Ontology, July 21- 25 at the Medical University of Graz, Austria.  A demo entitled, “The Pharmacology Workspace: A Platform for Drug Discovery” will present the current state of the Open PHACTS project, which uses NBIC’s ConceptWiki software as an integral part of the system.
