Description

This course will teach participants how to use scripting to deal with the huge amounts of data that modern biomedical experiments generate, such as next-generation sequencing and other high-throughput platforms. Participants will learn how to write scripts (small programs) using the Python programming language. At the end of the course you will be able to: 

  • load text-containing (sequences, tab-delimited, csv, xml data etc.) data files 
  • filter textual data
  • search for patterns in sequences
  • write new, filtered or processed data to files
  • do conversions and calculations on data

The course is scheduled in 2011 on April 26, May 10, 17, 24, 31, June 7, 14 & 21

The course will be given in both Dutch and English.
