Job description

Lexogen is looking for an innovative Bioinformatician to join our team who wants to play an active role in the conception and development of novel products for the transcriptomics market. This position is available from January 2010.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyse Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data
  • Set up tools for (de novo) assembly of genomes and transcriptomes
  • Statistical analysis of experimental data
  • Program databases and write queries
  • Simulate genomes, transcriptomes with proprietary software, program modules for proprietary software

Job requirements

  • Degree in bioinformatics, computer science, or mathematics
  • Minimum of two years experience in the fi eld of genomics or transcriptomics is essential
  • Experience in handling NGS data is advantageous
  • Knowledge of contemporary programming languages (e.g. C/C#, Perl, Java)
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast paced start-up environment
  • Excellent command of the English language
