BioWise

Educating current and next generations of bioinformaticians

The NBIC Education programme, BioWise, offers bioinformatics courses for all levels. For PhD students and post-docs, the NBIC PhD School provides an advanced programme that covers in-depth courses on the latest technologies and applications. For researchers in the life sciences, targeted bioinformatics courses are offered. Through collaborations with (networks of) Dutch universities and universities of applied sciences ('HBO'), NBIC is connecting to bachelor and master students in bioinformatics and biology. Finally, with the Bioinformatics@school project NBIC introduces high school pupils to the world of bioinformatics and computational biology.

NBIC Education Committee

To ensure that the BioWise programme is kept up to date with the latest scientific developments in the field and with the needs and wishes of universities and universities of applied sciences, NBIC has installed a committee of bioinformatics scientists and teachers; the NBIC Education Committee:
