Conference “Connecting Biobanks”

Large-scale cooperation between biobanks has been successful on a global scale in the past two years. Collaboration between biobanks is essential for the future of biomedical science. Biomedical and bioinformatics research groups in the Netherlands join forces with international partners in the conference “Connecting Biobanks” on November 22, 2010 in Amsterdam (continued in morning of the 23rd for CWA participants).

The conference programme includes:
- Renowned international speakers on biobank-related topics Confirmed: David Cox (Pfizer)
- BBMRI-NL’s official kick-off
- Dedicated workshops addressing specific topics, such as data interoperability
- A poster market, presenting BBMRI-NL projects aimed at enrichment and harmonization
- Formal inauguration of the Global Concept Web Alliance
- Presentation and demonstration of CWA partners’developed technology and applications
- Ample opportunity to interact with colleagues
Conference venue: Academic Medical Center Amsterdam (AMC)
Date: 22 November 2010 (from 9.30 till 16.00, followed by drinks)
