BioAssist programmers meetings

The BioAssist programme calls all of the scientific programmers together once a month for a meeting in Utrecht. Goal of those meetings is to Encourage Collaboration and Communication. The meetings consist of a few lectures describing tools that have been used and/or developed inside an NBIC programme, and some workshops where everyone can learn what these tools could do for them. Between the lectures and workshops there is ample time for interaction.

The programme for these meetings is kept on the NBIC Wiki.

NBIC organizes hackathon meetings for programmers once or twice per year. These meetings are meant to bring together programmers that are not usually working together for an intensive 2-day session. Projects undertaken are novel ideas in bioinformatics that are taken to a first demonstrable version.
