Bioinformatics Research Support (BRS)
The Bioinformatics Research Support group (BRS) offers direct help to end-users (life scientists) addressing practical problems which can be solved using custom-made bioinformatics solutions, such as dedicated software, help with implementation, training, or consultancy.
What can BRS do for you
The computer is a vital part of most life science research projects. Although it is without doubt a very useful tool, it asks for its own field of expertise. When existing software can't be used for the research task at hand, research will slow down or even stall completely.
BRS offers support for a wide range of bioinformatics problems. By alleviating the computational problems BRS allows life scientists to focus purely on life science goals. BRS engineers are experienced in finding quick solutions using existing software or adapting these to the client's needs. If such a solution is not possible, they can create new software specifically for the life science task at hand. BRS aims to provide solutions that are user friendly and easily reused for similar, future, projects.
Getting support
It is easy to request support from BRS. All that is required is a short project description with a clear problem definition. In a follow-up intake meeting, it will discussed what type of bioinformatics support suits your research project, and – if applicable – a realistic project planning will be made that includes a list of deliverables. If you want to know beforehand if your project is eligible for BRS support, you can contact us by email or phone.
