Leve DNA! teacher training

NBIC
Date:
16 Nov 2012
Location:
Leiden

In February this year the national newspaper Volkskrant published an article about DNA sequencing: "The complete human DNA-code can be sequenced in only fifteen minutes."

How is this done? And maybe more important, what can one do with this technology?

During the training day, high school teachers and students will follow the line of DNA-research: starting with a research question, do experiments in the laboratory, read DNA-sequences and analyse them on the computer. Participants will get a tour through the Leiden Genomics Technology Center where DNA-sequencers are running.

Target audience are high school teachers and their students, and teachers of the "HLO".
